Terms of Service
Effective date: 9 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of School Choice Report at schoolchoicereport.co.uk and your purchase of the report we provide (reports on the state schools near a UK postcode with their latest Ofsted rating). By using this site or buying a report, you agree to these Terms.
1. What you are buying
School Choice Report sells a one-off informational report for £7. The report compiles and presents public information about the state schools near the postcode you supply, ranked by distance, with each school's latest Ofsted rating, type, age range and size.
2. The report is an informational estimate, not professional advice
The report is provided for general information only. It is an informational estimate, not a professional service, and it is not, and must not be relied on as, professional, educational, legal, financial or admissions advice. It does not create any professional or advisory relationship. It is not a substitute for a school's own admissions authority, an official Ofsted report, or advice from your local authority. You are solely responsible for any decision you make, and you should check a school's admission arrangements and visit before acting on anything in the report.
3. No warranty
The report and this site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, so far as the law allows. We draw on third-party and public data sources (including the DfE schools register and Ofsted inspection data) that may contain errors, gaps or out-of-date figures. Ofsted ratings in particular are historic snapshots, and since September 2024 many state schools no longer carry a single overall grade. We do not warrant that the report is accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, School Choice Report and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site or the report. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the report or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the report (£7). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
5. Refunds and cancellation
The report is a digital product delivered immediately. By ordering and choosing to download your report straight away, you ask us to begin supplying it at once and acknowledge that your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations is lost once download has begun. This does not affect your statutory rights where something goes wrong. We provide refunds for delivery failure, for example, if you paid but did not receive your report, or the report could not be generated for the postcode you supplied. If your report failed to arrive or cannot be produced, email [email protected] and we will re-deliver it or refund your purchase. If you believe a specific figure in your report is wrong, contact us and we will investigate.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: resell, republish or redistribute the report as your own product; scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract content from the site; attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure; or use the site or report for any unlawful purpose. The report is licensed to you for your own personal use.
7. Intellectual property
The site, its design, its text and the report format are owned by School Choice Report and protected by intellectual-property law. Underlying public data referenced in the report belongs to its respective sources, including the Department for Education and Ofsted. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the report you purchase for your own purposes.
8. Third-party services
Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms. Analytics are provided by Fathom Analytics. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services, though we choose them with your privacy in mind (see our Privacy Policy).
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home nation.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
